Gayathri Vaidyanathan is an Indian-Canadian multimedia journalist based in London, United Kingdom. Her stories have appeared in Nature, Greenwire/ The New York Times, WNYC Radio, The Wall Street Journal and other places.

She is an International Development Research Council fellow with Nature magazine, covering issues out of the developing world. She has reported from Kenya, Ethiopia, Liberia, India, France, Canada and the United States. She is also on staff with the online publication Greenwire, based in Washington, DC.

She has degrees in Journalism from Columbia University and Biochemistry from McMaster University in Canada. She has published one research article on the wonders of the enzyme adenosine kinase and molecules that block it.
